TDS is delighted to build a custom home in Springfield, Jacksonville. After providing ‘pro bono’ consulting work for a luxury custom residence in Springfield, currently worked on by Apex Technology, the owner of the project approached TDS to help design a house for his business partner on an adjacent lot. This was a great opportunity to help solidify the great working partnership between the TDS & Apex but more importantly was also an opportunity to help reinvigorate a historically significant Jacksonville community.
The Residence belongs to Doris Harris, a renowned chef from the Philadelphia area. Harris states, “When I met with Damon back in February he was very accommodating. I had nothing on paper but I knew what I wanted in my head. I was able to convey to him and he was able to take notes, listen and come up with exactly what I wanted and envisioned.” With the owner being a chef, a large café adjacent to the commercial style kitchen, which will be used for entertaining her guests, was necessary. Damon Roby, Managing Principle of TDS stated, “Blending elements of Craftsman Architecture with a modern floor plan and building science technology, the home is designed to be attractive from the exterior with a user friendly and energy efficient interior.” Mrs. Harris was very pleased with TDS and the outcome of her home. She stated “Space allocation was very crucial for me, I wanted to have my living space on the first floor. I wanted to have a nice open living space.” Including the studio above the garage, the floor plan of the custom home boasts just over 2900 sq. ft. of usable space with a formal living and dining area that embodies the owner’s personal design configuration.
