LGI Homes started in 2002 in The Woodlands, Texas and began to focus their first homebuilding efforts in the Lone Star state. After having success in Texas’ largest and fastest growing metropolitan areas like Houston, San Antonio, Austin, and Dallas/Fort Worth, LGI Homes began to expand its efforts into bordering states. Their success continued in Denver, Phoenix, Tucson, and Albuquerque. Simply dominating the home building market in the southwestern states was not enough for the insatiable executives of LGI Homes. Their visions for success, almost identical to True Design Studio’s grandiose plans, reached far beyond one region of the United States.

LGI Homes has now expanded to the southeastern United States and has seen massive success especially in Florida. Cities like Orlando, Tampa, and Fort Meyers have been sites for major growth. With this large undertaking of expansion one might be curious as to what LGI Homes business model is. Simply put, LGI Homes uses the same blueprints and the same color for virtually every house they build. TDS is helping expand this plan to include more options.
